What Next?New Patient Visit:
Expect your initial visit to last at least 90 minutes. You will be asked to fill in a complete health history. In this intake we will talk in detail about your health. At the end of the intake I will form a diagnosis and put together a treatment plan for you. The treatment plan may suggest some combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle modifications. If I feel that I will be unable to help you, I will do my best to refer you someone that can. At this point you will decide if you wish to continue and have an acupuncture treatment that day. I generally will not prescribe herbal medicine at the first treatment as I want to see how you respond to the first acupuncture treatment. Subsequent VisitsSubsequent visits will be much shorter, generally around 45 minutes, We will review your experience during the week by asking a subset of the questions covered in the initial intake. This should take no more than 20 minutes. After which you will be given an acupuncture treatment following the same process as the initial visit. Combo Therapies for Best Results A typical appointment with Dr. Edith is $90 and lasts 60-75mins, including 10-15mins for intake and 50-65mins for treatment. Acupuncture and Bodywork (Manual Therapy) are frequently combined for best results. Additional techniques such as Cupping, Heat Therapy, Nutritional Counseling, and Therapeutic Exercises may be incorporated. Herbal Medicine is prescribed as needed. The cost for herbs/supplements is not included in the treatment price and typically range from $5 to $30 depending on patient needs and condition. New Patient Visit The initial visit is $110, includes a more thorough health history and review of your present condition, and usually lasts 75-85mins. We may discuss your diet, lifestyle, stress, exercise, sleep, etc... Physical examination is conducted, your pulse taken and your tongue examined according to the Chinese Medicine diagnostic system. Together we will determine a treatment strategy that best suits your individual needs and condition. Once a thorough intake has been completed, diagnosis and treatment plan determined, the remaining time will be devoted to treatment. In subsequent visits, the intake and consultation is generally shorter, allowing more focus on the treatment itself.
